The term "Boa" refers to a lace tightening method where the steel laces are tightened evenly by turning the BOA wheel. Thanks to this, the skate is pulled evenly along its entire length. In addition, you can tighten it even while skating, when you already have the clip tightened. The BOA system comes with a lifetime warranty with free spare parts, but the standalone system is extremely reliable and easy to service too. The velcro on the boot and the clip on the ankle take care of the rest of the tightening.
