Bell Catalyst MIPS Mat White / Gunmetal 2021
Riders looking for a light and well-ventilated helmet, it's all about speed - the Bell Catalyst MIPS helmet offers a modernized, round design that not only looks modern, but feels modern as well.
With MIPS technology integrated into the Float Fit system, the Catalyst helmet now also offers comprehensive energy management while being much more comfortable and better fitting overall. Add to that the No-Twist Tri-Glides straps, Overbrow ventilation cooling and a removable visor, and you'll find that the Catalyst helmet is a clear motivation to get out and ride miles and miles.
All Bell helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible in the event of an impact and comply with the applicable European standard: EN 1078. The new MIPS technology aims to eliminate the rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall. In an impact at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the rider's head. Nevertheless, this movement is only within a few millimeters.
What is MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
MIPS is a slippery insert between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner linings. In the event of an impact at an angle (for example, when you catch a branch with your head), the EPS shell of the helmet rotates a few millimeters after the MIPS layer, protecting the head and brain from a violent rotational movement.
