K2 Grid 110 skates are one of the hottest new products of this season. Entire Grid skate line-up has changed everything we've ever expected from K2 so far. The K2 brand has always been known as a manufacturer of soft boot skates (soft and very comfortable shoes). This model line changed this and the American manufacturer presented us with a hardboot collection, complemented with a comfortable inner liner, straight from the world-famous brand Intuition. Unlike the K2 Surge series, the Grid models are equipped with better and better quality buckles, wheels, and additionally have an Intuition liner that is comfortable and heat-moldable. The 3x110mm version of the skates will serve as a great training tool for intermediate or advanced skaters. Thanks to the bigger wheel diameter of 3x110mm is this model is also an ideal and fast way how to transport yourself around town.
Although three-wheeled skates have a slightly higher center of gravity, larger wheels go over obstacles better and also absorb shocks. Three wheels fit into a shorter frame, which makes the skates more agile and easy to control.
Frame, wheels and boot
Boot has an unconventional and modern design, which is complemented by two strong and high-quality ratchet buckles. In addition to the traditional lacing, the liner itself can be tightened using a quick-release lacing system. Intuition liner is a premium product of a Canadian company that is a leader in the liner production for skiers and also skates. It is heat mouldable and also adds up to good energy transfer and the best possible control. The space under the laces has a large FR Skates-style cutout. It provides excellent ventilation, thanks to ventilation holes and Vortech channels in the lower part of the boot and in the sole.
Located above the heel is the so-called Flex Lock, through which it is possible to regulate the flex of the boots. For normal fitness skating and training on longer rides, you can unlock the flex lock, and if you want to try new tricks, just lock it and the entire construction of the shoe will hold firmly in the ankle without moving forward.
The Intuition Liner also contains a shock absorber that dampens shocks and also contributes to keeping the foot in place.

Aluminium frame adds up to good energy transfer and rigidity. The frame connects to the boot via a steel pad, which, in addition to the 165mm mounting, is also compatible with frames with a 195mm mounting, so in the future you can also use the boots in combination with speed skating frames.
Wheels with a diameter of 3x110 are similarly fast as 4x90mm. They are a great upgrade if you have been using diameters such as 4x80mm or 4x84mm. A larger wheel diameter will be a bit harder to get going faster, but it is easier to maintain a higher speed with it. Great for training rides and also commutin. ILQ 9 bearings are fast and lubricated with a solid grease that lasts extra long and keeps the bearings quiet.
